Warming in the sun

Cusco is in the tropics but the altitude results in any warmth being dissipated quickly. Sitting in the sun felt about 10 degrees warmer then sitting in the shade... An interesting side note: the same solar radiation effect means that water boils at this elevation at around 90 degrees celsius : Geek Stuff
Our Hostal - Rumi Punku

A great place to stay to get over our jet lag and adjust to the altitude. The Stone Doorway with the excellent craftmanship is of Inca origin and the more ramshackle stone work to the left and right of it is more modern.

Putting our bikes together

The Hostal looked after our bikes for us while we did our Inca Trail tour and our trip to the Jungle. Here we are putting the bikes together on the sunny roof courtyard of the Hostal.

After Heidi's bike took an unplanned side trip to Sao Paulo it was a relief to get the out of the boxes and back together again.
